Frequently Asked Questions |
How are your
care-givers selected?
All of
our care-givers are thoroughly interviewed, reference checked and
screened. We conduct a private investigation into their criminal,
civil and driving records. Every care-giver is bonded and
insured.
Who Pays the
care-givers?
We do
they are our employees and are paid through our regular payroll.
We take care of all their employment, payroll taxes, insurance,
social security and worker’s compensation so that you don’t have
to worry about anything.
Does
insurance cover the cost?
Only long
term care insurance policies. Health insurance generally does not
cover these services. If you have long –term care coverage, we
can accept assignment directly from your insurance carrier and
bill them on your behalf.
Does any
government program cover the cost?
Not
usually. Medicare and Medicaid (Medical in California) do not
cover the cost our services.
What happens
when the care-giver needs time off?
We
provide a relief person with similar experience to cover for
them. The primary care-giver can take time off when they want as
long as it doesn’t interfere with the client’s schedule or plans.
It may place on weekends or three or four days off after several
weeks of work . Sometimes the care –giver prefers no regular time
off. If the care –giver gets sick, We can replace them quickly.
Once a care-giver is placed, the client is never left without
care.
Can your
service care for a client in a facility (hospital, nursing, home,
or assisted living)?
Yes. We
can provide service to care facility residents who desire
one-to-one companionship and personal care.
Do I have to
sign a contract?
Yes.
Within the terms of the contract the client has the freedom to
increase, decrease or stop the service at any time without
penalty. A client may also change a care-giver at anytime if the
need arises. Our service is designed around the changing needs of
seniors and we answer that with our flexibility.
Why would I
choose an agency over a registry?
In
choosing an agency you become our client, which enables us to act
as your case manager. A registry can make a referral only, with
no authority to dictate schedules, make reliever placements, or
troubleshoot as needs change. Additionally, a registry pays no
taxes and maintains the authority to work with families in seeing
that all needs are met.
Can I change
caregivers if I wish?
Yes at
any time. Though Loving Hearts believes we have an unmatched
record for assigning the best care-givers to meet each clients
individual needs, situations can change. So every client retains
the right to select or change their caregiver at all times
