How are your care-givers selected?

All of our care-givers are thoroughly interviewed, reference checked and screened. We conduct a private investigation into their criminal, civil and driving records. Every care-giver is bonded and insured.

Who Pays the care-givers?

We do they are our employees and are paid through our regular payroll. We take care of all their employment, payroll taxes, insurance, social security and worker’s compensation so that you don’t have to worry about anything.

Does insurance cover the cost?

Only long term care insurance policies. Health insurance generally does not cover these services. If you have long –term care coverage, we can accept assignment directly from your insurance carrier and bill them on your behalf.

Does any government program cover the cost?

Not usually. Medicare and Medicaid (Medical in California) do not cover the cost our services.

What happens when the care-giver needs time off?

We provide a relief person with similar experience to cover for them. The primary care-giver can take time off when they want as long as it doesn’t interfere with the client’s schedule or plans. It may place on weekends or three or four days off after several weeks of work . Sometimes the care –giver prefers no regular time off. If the care –giver gets sick, We can replace them quickly. Once a care-giver is placed, the client is never left without care.

Can your service care for a client in a facility (hospital, nursing, home, or assisted living)?

Yes. We can provide service to care facility residents who desire one-to-one companionship and personal care.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Yes. Within the terms of the contract the client has the freedom to increase, decrease or stop the service at any time without penalty. A client may also change a care-giver at anytime if the need arises. Our service is designed around the changing needs of seniors and we answer that with our flexibility.

Why would I choose an agency over a registry?

In choosing an agency you become our client, which enables us to act as your case manager. A registry can make a referral only, with no authority to dictate schedules, make reliever placements, or troubleshoot as needs change. Additionally, a registry pays no taxes and maintains the authority to work with families in seeing that all needs are met.

Can I change caregivers if I wish?

Yes at any time. Though Loving Hearts believes we have an unmatched record for assigning the best care-givers to meet each clients individual needs, situations can change. So every client retains the right to select or change their caregiver at all times
